The SCDF said a man tried to jump off Block 41 at Telok Blangah Rise on Feb 15, but was stopped by the Police before he could do so. STOMPer Bryanbee spotted the inflatable platform that the SCDF had set up to catch the potential jumper.
An SCDF spokesperson said:
"We received a call about a potential jumper at 10.33am on Feb 15.
"Two fire bikes, one fire engine, one red rhino, an ambulance, a support vehicle and the DART responded to the call.
"When the SCDF arrived at the location, a life pack was set up to catch the man who was trying to jump.
"But he was apprehended by the police before he could jump.
Bryanbee elaborates on the incident:
"This happened at Telok Blangah Rise Block 41 on the Feb 15.
"I'm not really sure who was trying to jump as from my view I was blocked by the trees.
"The police came first at around 11.15am, followed by the Civil Defence team who set up the necessary life-saving equipments.
"Residents of the area had swamped to the nearby incident area.
"The scene took almost half an hour to clear.
"I'm sure the authorities saved the person who was trying to jump."
