A man has apparently gotten himself into a fix by racking up a whopping $349,243 phone bill. The massive bill appears to be the result of data roaming charges incurred while the man was in Taiwan.
Says STOMPer Miso:
"I came across this on the internet.
"The guy's bill is also being shared on Facebook by the guy himself.
"Such scary charges...he could buy a house with the money!"
STOMPer shocker added:
"This bill is circulating on Facebook; I saw a tag link from my friend's post which show us this bill shocker.
"Look like the Smartphone is only smart to the Telco company and not for us. This Telco would love this customer.
"Advice to all users, especially those who are going overseas for the first time: Ensure your 3G setting is turned off and set to 2G BASIC mode in Singapore (even if you receive SMSes when overseas, you still need to pay).
"Or else, you may even need to pay more than what you spend during your trip overseas.
"The best way is to change to an old school phone without any internet connection built in.
"I wonder if the Telco would accept an appeal for the bill shocker, especially when it's a first timer who went overseas.
"If the Telco could send us a warning or instructions on how to how to turn off or auto disable 3G the moment a tag Telco is being detected (overseas Telco) would be the best."
