Commuters stuck in bus, until STOMPer helps driver force open doors

STOMPer Ben was about to board a bus when he noticed something was wrong -- the doors would not open. He helped the bus driver force open the doors to allow passengers to alight and board.

Said the STOMPer:

"People trapped on the bus.

"This happened around 8.20pm on Friday Feb 3 2012.

"I was waiting at a bus stop on my way to Pasir Ris.

"I was about to board bus 81.

"However I noticed that something was wrong when I saw the bus driver kicking the back door in an effort to force open the door but to no avail.

"I tried pressing the emergency door button but the doors remained close.

"Only after I forced open the front door then they opened."

This is the result of PAP policy of increasing popluation without planning if our infrastrutre is ready. So much so for their foresight which they always claim to be the best.
FYI their KPI is the GDP and not the welfare of the citizen. As population grows, GDP will grow.

I also extended my help to fellow commuters; the bus broke down with Aircon Burning problem along Loyang Ave and the driver instructed passengers to alight without the need to tap on the card readers. He told passengers to make claims later at Transitlink office. This was very irresponsible of him indeed! Passengers actually should tap out on the card readers with Breakdown mode displayed. By holding their cards against the readers for 3 seconds or more, their fares would be cancelled and earned a free ride. Also, many passengers did not know or forgotten to collect the complimentary tickets held in the hands of the driver. I have to remind some aunties to return to the bus to collect the tickets and helped on of my colleague to cancel fare.
