The effect of STOMP: Reserved Seats now left vacant

STOMPer CCTV has noticed a marked difference in our trains -- commuters have taken to leaving reserved seats clear for those who need it more.

The STOMPer wrote:

"This is the result of all the cases of people being STOMPed for sitting in reserved seats.

"In recent months I notice this 'effect'.

"People might be guilty, or conscious of being 'caught' for 'unauthorized sitting', and no longer occupy the reserved seat anymore.

"A child, who boarded the train from Ang Mo Kio alighted at Bishan and asked her mother, 'Mummy, why nobody sit there?'

"Her mom replied: 'When you sit you must smile, this seats are not meant for normal humans.'

"The surprised child reply: 'Mummy is it for ghosts?'

"The rest of the conversation I did not hear as they had alighted. Deep in my heart, I was laughing away. Is that the correct way to teach a child?"

@pinkbeautyy no. U r wrong. That is not meant for us. With or without, u still can't sit. And people are not morons u idiot!!! they are just snapping photos and upload it to stomp to prove that this is Singaporean behavior!!! I did too! But on KTMB. They are not suppose to sit there.

Those who post pictures people sitting on reserved seats are dumb people because they couldn't get to sit. It's not wrong to sit unless there is an elderly nearby that you have to give up the seat to. Low life morons

Notice how much strength these "aunties" exert when pushing through crowds? Just by being old doesn't get the priority of seats in public transport.. We give seats to people who NEEDS it more than we do. What if a teenager with a bad spine problem who can't stand for too long takes up the priority seat. Must he give up his seat to some old but healthy person? I personally have got a little back problem and standing too long may strain and hurt my back ALOT but nonetheless, I will still give up my seats to people who needs it more than i do. What i'm trying to get across is that sometimes, you need to look at the "whole picture" as what you see may not be the case.
