CyberSecurity Malaysia digital forensic head Aswami Fadillah Mohd
Ariffin said this in the trial for the murder of Mongolian Altantuya
Shaariibuu which entered its 58th today.
The 36-year-old witness told the High Court here that he detected the
calls from the log data supplied by the service providers.
Razak, 47, has been charged with abetting Azilah, 31, and another
policeman from the Special Action Unit — Cpl Sirul Azhar Umar, 36, — in
murdering the 28-year-old woman in a jungle in Bukit Raja in between 10pm
on Oct 19 last year and 1am the next day.
All three will face the death
sentence if convicted.
According Razak’s affidavit to support his application for bail on Jan
19, Musa was named as his acquaintance and had introduced Azilah to him.
Aswami said he had analysed the calls and SMS made from Oct 17 to 21
last year by 12 handphones and 14 SIM cards and also analysed two laptop
computers sent to him by the police.
He said the service providers — Maxis, Celcome and Digi — had
supplied him with log data containing records of calls and SMS made by the
12 handphones but some of them were incomplete.
He said he could not detect any SMS stored in Razak’s and Musa’s
handphones but Musa’s telephone number had been detected calling Azilah.
On Oct 17, 2006, he said, Razak received a call from Rohaniza’s
handphone and made several calls to his private investigator, P. Balasubramaniam.
He also said that from the log data of Altantuya’s SIM card,
Balasubramaniam contacted her several hours after Razak contacted him.
He told the court that after applying several methods, he found a
number of SMS which were not deleted and some of them contained information
sent between Altantuya, Balasubramaniam and Razak.
The trial before Justice Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin continues on Monday.
